Lisle police fatally shoot man caught trying to break into home

LISLE, Ill. — Lisle police shot and killed a man caught trying to break into a woman’s home while she was sleeping.

It happened at about 5 a.m. Saturday in the 4400 block of Yender Avenue.

The woman called police after hearing someone trying to kick in her front door.

Officers arrived to find a man with a weapon.

Police say they tried to subdue him with a taser, but it didn’t work.

One of the officers shot the man who died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
