CHICAGO — A retired Chicago policewoman became the victim of a purse-snatcher Monday evening.

She parked her car outside her home near Cornelia and Wolcott in the North Center neighborhood.

But before she could make it to her home, a man pushed her down and took her expensive Coach purse. She was treated for minor injuries.

A witness tried to catch the thief, but couldn’t.

The mugger is described as African-American, around 5’10’’, with a thin build, and wearing a Rasta style hat or turban.

Another woman was mugged in the same area just hours earlier.
