CHAMPAIGN, Ill. –Studying for a big test is always difficult, especially if the test is scheduled the day after the Cubs’ wild-card game. But one student was able to change all that.
Ben Larson, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, crafted a perfectly blunt email in high hopes that his professor would “have a soft spot for the Cubs” and change the date of the exam that was originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8.
After clinching their eighth straight win against the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday, the Cubs are set to face the Pittsburgh Pirates in a wild-card game at PNC Park on Wednesday night, Oct. 7.
Luckily for Larson, his professor agreed that this game should not be missed.
Here is the email Larson sent and his professor’s brilliant response:
If only every college professor was so understanding.
