Travel alert: Construction projects, events in Chicago this weekend

CHICAGO -- There are several big construction projects and events that could slow you down on Chicago roads this weekend:

Jane Byrne Interchange Flyover Work:
WB I-290 Closes at 90/94
Friday, 10 p.m. to Monday, 5 a.m.
-Drivers will still have access to the Kennedy and Dan Ryan to and from I-290-


IB Kennedy: Ohio to I-290
Down to 1 Lane: Saturday, 8 p.m. to Sunday, 8 a.m.
Full 15 min closures: Saturday, 10 p.m. to Sunday, 7 a.m.

Ravenswood Connector Track Work:
CTA Brown Line trains will run in the Red Line subway all weekend between Fullerton and Roosevelt as crews continue work on the Ravenswood Connector.


Chicago Half Marathon:
LSD will be closed from 31st to 67th
Sunday, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
-Metra is adding service on the Electric Line. Runners coming downtown from the north should be aware of the IB Kennedy construction listed above-

Also, watch for added traffic on LSD and I-55 Saturday due to the following events:
2015 Chicago Football Classic at Soldier Field, 3:30 p.m.
Great Chicago Fire Festival at Northerly Island, 5 p.m.
