Shooting shuts down southbound Dan Ryan

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police shut down a portion of the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway early Saturday to investigate a shooting.

Police say two men were shot while driving in the southbound lanes near 71st Street around 2:30 Saturday morning.

The victims pulled over shortly after the shooting.  Someone picked them up and drove them to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey. Both are expected to be okay.

All lanes are now open.

Police are continuing their investigation.

This is the 29th shooting reported on a Chicago-area expressway this year.
