Man wanted for kidnapping woman from Lansing home

LANSING, Ill. - The FBI is searching for the man they say violently kidnapped a woman from her home in Lansing, Ill., early Friday morning.

Investigators say a man assaulted and kidnapped a 53-year-old woman from her home just after 12:00 a.m. on Friday.

According to the FBI, the man took the woman's car and drove with her to Munster, Ind. He stopped at an ATM there. Surveillance cameras on the ATM captured images of the suspect.

Investigators say the woman was able to escape when the man stopped briefly in Burns Harbor, Ind.

Her blue Chevrolet sedan was found later in Holland, Mich.

The FBI investigation now spans three states, as they are searching for a suspect they describe as "violent" and "dangerous."

Authorities are not disclosing any information about the victim's condition.
