CHICAGO — Add yet another fun moment to this year’s Cubs’ push for the playoffs.

The team said Saturday that third baseman Kris Bryant has tied the franchise’s rookie record for home runs in a season with 25.

With the home run Bryant has tied Billy Williams’s record set in 1961.

The Cubs were playing their rival St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.

Chicago is currently third in their division behind the Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates, but are currently nine games ahead of the San Francisco Giants for the second wild card spot.
