VIENNA -- The discovery of dozens of bodies brings new attention to Europe’s migration crisis.

In Austria, near its border with Hungary, police say they found the bodies of at least 71 migrants, including 4 children, 8 women, in the back of an abandoned refrigeration truck.

The bodies may have been there for two days before anyone found them.

Police believe they are the bodies of refugees. Police investigating the deaths say they likely suffocated.

The discovery comes one day after the Italian Coast Guard found 54 people dead on boats in the Mediterranean on Wednesday.

Thousands of others were rescued off the coast of Libya.

The Swedish Coast Guard says it found 51 migrants dead in the hull of a large fishing boat.

More than 400 others were rescued from the ship.
