CAPE COD, Mass. -- A video released this week by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy captured a rare moment one might only expect to see in "Jaws."
The dramatic footage shows a great white sharkjumping completely out of the water trying to catch a seal in its mouth off the coast of Cape Cod. Lucky for the seal, the shark missed.
“We had never seen a breach out of water before,” AWSC President Cynthia Wigren told ABC News. “It was pretty incredible to see.”
This summer's highly-publicized shark attacks in the Carolinas have brought increased attention to the underwater predators.
