CHICAGO — Though Jon Stewart has left “The Daily Show,” John Oliver is carrying the torch on HBO — and he’s about to bring his brand of political satire to Chicago.

Oliver will perform a night of standup comedy at the Chicago Theatre on Dec. 30.

The British comedian made a name for himself as a correspondent on “The Daily Show” and was a fill-in host during Stewart’s hiatus while directing “Rosewater.” Oliver later landed his own program on HBO, “Last Week Tonight.”

Tickets will cost between $55-75 apiece. They’ll go on sale Friday, August 21 through Ticketmaster.
