CPS CEO Forrest Claypool slashes executive budget
CHICAGO – Chicago Public Schools CEO Forrest Claypool is slashing his executive budget by 20 percent.
He’s laying off nine senior aides, earning one million dollars in salaries, as he prepares to unveil the 2016 budget.
Claypool has also ordered reductions in professional membership expenses, travel, consulting and he cut back on the vacation policy for senior managers.
The cuts will shave $1.7 million from the budget.
CPS faces a $1.1 billion shortfall.
