2 officers treated for smoke inhalation after fire on Far South Side

CHICAGO — Two Chicago police officers were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire on the Far South Side.

The fire burned a vacant home near 124th and State Street, around 4 a.m.

It was put out within 45 minutes.

The officers were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

A firefighter was also treated on the scene.

No one else was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
