CHICAGO –A man and an elderly woman were shot Wednesday morning in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said.
One of the victims was in serious-to-critical condition and the other was in fair-to-good condition. Both were taken to Chicago area hospitals.
The woman is 79 years old and suffered a gunshot wounded to her left side, authorities said. It was not known which hospital she was taken to.
The shooting happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the 800 block of East 63rd Street, fire officials said.
After 20 minutes later, a man was shot in the leg around 69th and Honore streets, police said.
