GREENFIELD, Ind. — Indiana State Police say the driver of a small church bus that crashed and overturned on Interstate 70, killing a 6-year-old boy, had a suspended driver's license.
The crash happened on Interstate 70 around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Twelve people, including 6-year-old Jacob Williams, were on the bus heading to a church youth convention in Dayton.
The driver apparently lost control and swerved off the highway. The bus hit a tree, rolled over and then caught fire.
Police say the driver, 53-year-old Charles Goodman of Gary, had a suspended license and was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Lake County for failing to appear in court for a traffic offense.
Williams and Goodman were both ejected from the bus. Williams was found underneath the bus.
Eight others were injured in the accident.
