Obama pushes for criminal justice reform at NAACP convention

PHILADELPHIA -- President Obama says the U.S. can no longer close its eyes to the problems in its criminal justice.

At the NAACP’s annual convention in Philadelphia Tuesday, Obama promoted the need for criminal justice reform.

He said in too many cases, the punishment doesn't fit the crime. The president used low-level drug dealers as an example. He says they owe a debt to society, but not a life sentence.
