CHICAGO — It didn’t take long for Johnny Oduya to land somewhere.

A day after his agent said the veteran defenseman said Oduya would not re-sign with the Blackhawks, Oduya signed a two-year deal with the Stars on Wednesday worth a reported $3.75 million a season.

The Stars had a need at defenseman after the traded 31-year-old Trevor Daley to the Blackhawks in the deal that sent Patrick Sharp to Dallas.

Oduya, 33, spent parts of the last four seasons with the Hawks and was a key part of their last two Stanley Cup victories.

Essentially, the Blackhawks secured Oduya’s replacement when they acquired Daley, who is 31 and carries a cap hit of $3.3 million through 2017.
