Police seek 3 suspects in robberies near UIC

CHICAGO – Police are looking for suspects in a series of armed robberies and attempted robberies near the University of Illinois – Chicago campus.

Authorities say that on July 5th, a man was approached by three black male teenagers around 2 a.m. near W Taylor and S. Ada St.  One of the teens displayed a handgun and the man was robbed of his cash and phone.

That same day, just before 7 p.m. three suspects exited a silver Chevy Cruze and approached a man near W. Lexington and S. Loomis.  The suspect demanded the man’s possessions.

A short time later, three suspects approached a man around 9:30 p.m. in the 800 block of S. Loomis.  That man did not give the suspects any of his possessions.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-11, wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark basketball shorts. The second and third offenders are only described as black males.
