CHICAGO — More than 100,000 people packed onto Navy Pier Saturday night to take in the Fourth of July fireworks show.
Navy Pier officials said the venue was filled to capacity by 8 p.m., about an hour and a half before the show’s start time. Parking lots were filled hours before that.
But it wasn’t just the pier where the dazzling display could be viewed. Chicagoans and tourists also took in the sights and sounds from areas like Adler Planetarium, Belmont Harbor and balconies overlooking The Loop.
WGN vice president of technology David Harpe shot some photos at his vantage point from Willis (also known as Sears) Tower.
