How lucky the baby was! The risk of a collision should have been the first thing on his mind, not catching a foul ball at a baseball game. If the baby would have been injured, WGN and the entire new media family would have been hanging this guy out to dry. Shame on both the father for using poor judgement and risking injury to his baby and shame on WGN for reporting/celebrating this story. Stupid father!

Well, either he takes responsibility and tries (and succeeds) in catching the ball, or else he sits back in his seat and hopes the first baseman doesn’t unexpectedly miss/deflect it (while stretching awkwardly over the rolled up tarps) into the baby with no chance at any reaction time. I’d say he did the right thing, personally…and the results would agree.

Making a celebrity out of a guy who puts a baby at risk. Yes, nothing happened this time, I know. Also, interfers with a ball in play. Great job for highlighting endangering a baby!!!
