5-year-old girl killed by hit-and-run driver

CHICAGO -- Police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 5-year-old girl on the Southwest Side.

Maria Gonzalez was struck and killed at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, near her home in the 5900 block of South Mozart Street in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

Police have released a picture of the actual car that was involved in the crash. They are looking for a dark colored sedan with a sunroof and spoiler. It may also have a front-end bra, sport muffler and broken light.

The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on 60th Street from Mozart Street.

Anyone with information about the car or its driver is asked to call the police department's Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521.\
