CHICAGO -- Hillary Clinton returned to her hometown to talk the issue of childcare and also attend some two private fundraisers.
Hillary Clinton was raised in Chicago and she and her husband have been raising money here for decades. It is a city full of friends--starting with the mayor himself. Rahm Emanuel cut his teeth with the Clinton camp when he was a much younger man.
If the numbers add up as Clinton hopes in just one night she will have raised $800,000 .
Clinton attend a private event at the home of JB and MK Pritzker. At $2700 dollars a head, the former First Lady and now democratic candidate for president, made the rounds to raise money. Emanuel was in attendance as was former mayor Richard Daley to name a few of the 100 who attended.
Earlier in the evening, Clinton also attended an event at the home of millionaire media man Fred Eychner. He supported her during her run for president in 2008 and has given $25 million to the Clinton Foundation alone. 200 guests filled his Lincoln Park home.
This afternoon, however, Clinton has a heart to heart discussion with parents, teachers and childcare providers about educating and affording quality care for young children. The Service Employee’s International Union or SEIU sponsored the event.
