Married couple, son, housekeeper slain, house set on fire, D.C. police say
WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia police say a married couple, their 10-year-old son and a housekeeper were slain in multimillion-dollar northwest Washington home that was set on fire.
Police Chief Cathy Lanier said Friday that at least three of the victims suffered stab wounds or blunt force injuries and that all four were homicide victims. She says the injuries were sustained before the fire was set on Thursday afternoon.
Lanier identified the couple as 46-year-old Savvas Savopolous, a corporate executive, and his 47-year-old wife Amy Savopolous. Police believe the other victims were the couple’s 10-year-old son and a housekeeper.
Police are seeking information about a Porsche belonging to the family that was found Thursday night in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The car had also been set on fire.
