NEW YORK -- A waitress at a New York restaurant got a big tip from an unexpected place. A regular at Donohue’s Steakhouse passed away recently and left $50,000 in his will to waitress Maureen Barrie and her niece.
Robert Ellsworth's estate was valued around $200 million.
“At Christmas time he’d tip the entire staff from the dishwasher right out to the bus people,” Barrie said.
His favorite meal at the steakhouse was the grilled cheese and bacon -- open-faced.
“I’d much rather have him here than have the money,” Barrie said.
