22-year-old fatally shot in Englewood

CHICAGO —  A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the victim was shot while walking on 7200 S. Green Street just before 1 p.m.

He was approached  by an unknown male offender who shot him in the neck and chest before he fled on foot, according to police.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.

The victim was taken to Holy Cross where he died.

No one is in custody.

    Just another episode to be depicted in the new Spike Lee film “Chiraq”. Like the name of the movie or not, this is what Spike is trying to get through everyone’s thick skulls: the total absence and respect for human life, especially amongst young black males. Wake up Chicago!
