3 rescued, 1 dead in canoe accident
INGLESIDE, Ill. — One man is dead and three people, including two children ages 10 and 11, were rescued after their canoe flipped around 6 p.m. Sunday night.
The four were fishing on Wooster Lake in unincorporated Ingleside when the canoe overturned.
A man onshore saw and jumped into the water rescuing the two children and a man before the Fox Lake Fire Department got there said Battalion Chief Tom Preidis.
The body of the dead man was recovered around 9:15 p.m., Preidis said.
The children and the man that was rescued were just cold and were treated at the scene.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
