(CHICAGO) -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane practiced with his teammates for the first time in five weeks on Wednesday, skating around Johnny's IceHouse West in a white non-contact jersey, showing off his world-class speed and puck handling.

Kane said he feels good but says he needs to remain patient.

"You think you feel good but you're still a ways away," Kane told the media after practice. "It was nice to be out there with the team today and skate with them and hopefully sooner rather than later I can do things like contact and stuff like that but I still think the timetable is the same."

Kane fractured his clavicle on Feb. 24, an injury he was told would take 12 weeks to heal. With that outlook, Kane would still need seven more weeks before he returns to game action.

The Blackhawks host the Canucks Thursday night and finish the regular season a week from Saturday in Colorado.
