Investigators call for ethics probe of Rep Schock

WASHINGTON — Aaron Schock gives up his congressional seat at the end of the day.

But the investigation into the downstate Republican’s questionable congressional spending will go on.

Prosecutors will question Schock’s former employees about his spending on office furnishings and his re-election campaign.

They also want to know about Schock’s relationships with big-money political donors.

Governor Bruce Rauner will set a date for a special election to fill Schock’s seat.

Republican State Senator Darin LaHood declared his candidacy for the seat Monday.
