BUFORD, Ga. (AP) — Police have charged a 27-year-old woman with attacking Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden and another woman at his home.
Erika Palmer remained jailed without bond Saturday and faced three counts of assault, one count of burglary and another count of theft by taking. The Times of Gainesville reports that Palmer is the mother of Walden’s children.
Police said the attack happened March 14 when Walden and Gloria Smith returned to his home in Buford. According to a police report, Palmer was sitting on a couch holding a gun and a baseball bat.
Authorities said Palmer hit Walden and Smith with the bat. According to the report, Palmer also attacked them as they tried to leave the house.
It was unclear Saturday whether Palmer had a defense attorney.
