The Orland Park Public Library will pay $55,000 to two people who repeatedly demanded records on the library’s policy of allowing adults to view internet porn on library computers.

The lawsuits merely targeted the library’s refusal to release the records, not the viewing policy itself.

The library board approved the payout Monday.

The main issue was child pornography, its availability and its cover up. Media have intentionally ignored that issue for over a year. As a result, in part, child porn remains available there.

This is the worst reporting on earth. The records requested were not repeats of policy over and over. They regarded the board’s out of control spending, payments to their law firm, complaints about people masturbating in the library, reports of child porn being accessed…a simple Google search would have shown you this. OR…how about contacting the attorney for the plaintiffs? The library violated the OMA (according to the IL attorney general) several times and the lawsuits addressed these violations. They also violated FOIA more times than can be counted. If your reporters had the curiosity to actually find out details of this story of a government board run amok, you’d have a much better story. Feel free to contact me at any time when someone at WGN gets interested in the truth. The truth is much better than this fiction.
