CHICAGO (AP) — A Cook County judge is expected to rule on a request to dissolve a court order that is delaying a medical marijuana permit in Kankakee.

Judge Kathleen Kennedy set a Thursday afternoon hearing in Chicago to issue her ruling. If she allows the temporary restraining order she granted to stand, she’s also expected to rule on whether the plaintiff must post a bond of perhaps $2 million.

The case is one of at least four legal proceedings now entangling some Illinois medical marijuana corporations.

Cresco Labs was the top-scoring company and the winner in the state’s permit competition in a northeastern Illinois district. But another company, PM Rx, claims the Illinois Department of Agriculture broke its own rules when awarding permits and it should have been the winner.
