LANCASTER, Calif. -- Authorities in California are investigating a fight between a nail salon owner and a customer that was caught on camera.
Surveillance and cellphone video show the two women exchanging punches.
Salon owner Kathy Nguyen claimed things started to get heated right after she refused the woman’s request. She told KTLA that 30-year-old Tawana Davis then grabbed two bottles of nail polishes off the shelf and started painting the toddler’s nails herself, which is against the store’s policy.
Nguyen accused Davis of getting physical with her when she tried to take back the polish.
“She punched me,” Nguyen said.
But Davis gave a different story, telling KTLA that she had brought her own polish to the nail boutique that day. According to Davis, she was carrying her little girl in her arms when Nguyen hit her.
“When she hit me with my daughter in my hand, I felt like as long as she was still standing, me and my daughter were in danger,” Davis said.
Police arrived to the scene and arrest Davis on suspicion of robbery. She was later released from jail after posting $50,000 bail.
