HANAHAN, S.C. — Those who are sick of the cold weather sweeping much of the U.S. may have found their newest scapegoat for why temperatures have been so bitter.

Police in Hanahan, South Carolina recently put the cuffs on Elsa, the snow queen from Disney’s “Frozen,” in connection with the cold weather headed toward their town.

WCBD reports that officers spotted the snow queen freezing a fountain, and took her into custody.

According to WCIV, police chief Mike Cochran and officer Flor Reyes made the “arrest.”

The event was set up by Glass Slipper Productions, a South Carolina company that provides princess-themed parties.

An employee for the production company told WCIV they thought it’d be a funny stunt following a move by police in Kentucky to jokingly issue an arrest warrant for the same Disney queen.

Courtney Fazley, of West Ashley, S.C., played Elsa in this case.

She was reportedly later released, after the ice melted.
