PALATINE, Ill. -- Three more cases of measles are now confirmed in suburban Cook County, bringing the total to nine.
The Cook County Department of Public Health says these cases involve two adults and six infants.
All the patients are unvaccinated.
Health officials are still investigating the source of the disease, a state health department statement said.
Most of the cases are linked to the KinderCare Learning Center in Palatine.
On Friday, a suspected case of measles in Lake County proved negative, according to Lake County health officials. Officials also said there was a reported case of measles in downstate Madison County that tested negative.
There are a total of 121 cases so far nationwide.
