Dept. of Streets and Sanitation UPDATE: More than 350 Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation (DSS) vehicles continue to clear arterial streets as a lake-effect snow system continues to impact Chicago and increase snow accumulation across the city. DSS’ full fleet of snow
removal vehicles have been combating a winter storm system for 33 continuous hours that has resulted in a covering of more than 18 inches of snow across the city.

AIRPORT UPDATES: The snowstorm has cancelled hundreds of today’s scheduled flights into and out of O’Hare and Midway airports.

There were 470 cancellations at midnight, on top of 1600 cancellations
Sunday.

Even when the snow is cleared away, it could take another day to move all those planes back into their proper positions, and restore a normal flight schedule.

If you have travel plans today, check with your airline.

CHICAGO AIRPORT UPDATE: 

O’Hare Airport: No delays. More than 785 flights have been cancelled today due to weather.

Midway Airport: No delays. More than 90 flights have been cancelled today due to weather.
