The numbers are big ones: 80 floors, 1,643 steps total ascended by 2,500 participants this morning at the 18th Annual Aon Step Up for Kids Stair Climb.

The Aon Center event was expected to raise more than $600,000 Sunday. In just shy of two decades, it has brought in more than five million for the Lurie Children's Family Services Center. Those are funded almost entirely by philanthropy alone.
