CHICAGO - Four Chicago Police officers were injured early Sunday morning when two squad cars crashed while chasing a stolen vehicle in on the Southwest Side.
The two police SUVs collided around 3:35 a.m. near the intersection of 26th Street and South California Avenue, just across from the Cook County Criminal Courts Building. News Affairs says both SUVs were responding to the call of a stolen vehicle.
Two officers were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, and two others were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County for treatment. Their injuries were non-life-threatening.
Shortly after that crash, the stolen vehicle crashed into another police car blocks away in the 3100 block of South California Avenue.
There were no injuries reported in that crash.
Two offenders, who were in the stolen car, were taken into police custody.
