Man charged in apparent accidental fatal shooting of his best friend

A West Side man told police he was quote playing when he accidentally shot his good friend in the head.

James Gonnigan, 25, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Marsalis Holman, 20.

Gonnigan says he was playing around when he held up a gun to Holman’s head and accidentally shot him Sunday at a home in the 1300 block of South Kolin.

Holman died Tuesday.

Gonnigan is being held on $100,000 bond.

    Did he legally own a gun? If not, how could he have possibly obtained one with all of the gun restriction laws in Chicago? The gun laws must be a mask and a complete failure.
