The snow plows and salt trucks were busy early Sunday morning as the Chicago area got a fresh dusting of snow.
Temperatures hovered just above freezing, so drivers in some suburbs, mostly to the north and northwest, experienced slick roads and some snow accumulation.
The city of Chicago deployed it's entire fleet of more than 280 plows and salt trucks to clear the main arterial streets and Lake Shore Drive. They will switch to side streets once that job is complete.
The Department of Streets of Sanitation will continue to monitor the roads as temperatures drop throughout the day.
Wind chills are expected to be near zero overnight.
