Neil Olson put up his Christmas tree in 1974.
At the time, two of his boys were fighting in Vietnam. He vowed he would keep the tree up until his whole family could be together around the tree.
But one of his sons was injured in the war and can't travel from his home in Washington state. So the evergreen and Olson wait.
Olson says the tree reminds him of life and aging. He also says it reminds him of all the years he had all of his children with him around the tree.
