Cubs’ Castro questioned in connection with Dominican shooting
Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro is being questioned by police in the Dominican Republic in connection with a shooting that happened at a nightclub.
Initial reports said Castro was arrested, but his agent, Paul Kinzer told the Chicago Tribune Castro went to the police voluntarily and was not involved in the incident.
El Caribe, a newspaper in the Dominican Republic reports 6 people were injured in a shooting Friday night in the town of Montecristi. The paper reports the shooting happened after a fight that involved Castro’s brother and bodyguards.
The Chicago Tribune reports it’s the second time this month Castro has been questioned in connection with a shooting in the Dominican Republic.
Castro was cleared of any wrongdoing in that incident.
The Cubs have yet to comment on this latest incident.
