The construction of a new CTA Wilson Station is now underway in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.

Red Line's Wilson station at Wilson and Broadway when completed will also be a stop for Purple Line trains. Currently there's no purple line transfer between Howard and Belmont.
The CTA president said this is one of the worst stations in the system with riders complaining about dirt, order and poor conditions..

The $203 million dollar project will increase lighting and 100 security cameras will be installed. The station will also get elevators.

The project is set to be completed in 2017. CTA says it doesn't expect any full station closures for the length of the project but you can expect some changes in service. They say the aim is to minimize that and try to schedule work that will impact service on weekends and overnight.
