High waves shut down bike path along Oak Street Beach

The Chicago Police Department and Chicago Police Marine Unit have shut down the bike path along Oak Street Beach due to high waves.

Massive waves are crashing against the breaker wall, and the bike path is completely wiped out with water.

A few bicyclists were washed out by the high waves.

Police are not allowing bicyclists and pedestrians to cross the bike path at this time.

    I was born and raised in Chicsgo. Gave birth to four of my children in Chicsgo. Then I relocated to Florida. Never do I remember and waves like thst. MAYBE I was too busy working but I don’t think so! So what’s causing it?
