A gym teach in California is facing charges after a video surfaced of him trying to drag a girl into a pool.

News 10 reports Denny Peterson, who has been employed by the Stockton Unified School District for 10 years, is facing charges of corporal injury of a child and is on paid leave.

The video was reportedly taken in August at the pool at Edison High School in Stockton.

News 10 reports the 14-year-old girl was avoiding the pool that day because she had had her hair done that morning and had an event to attend that night.  The girl’s attorney, Gilbert Somera, said the teacher had the option of punishing her academically but not physically.

“Regardless of her participation (in the class) it should disgust you how this man put his hands on a 14-year-old girl. She said multiple times, ‘my top is falling down,'” Somera said. He is preparing a claim and likely a lawsuit over the struggle.

The district issued a response saying, “SUSD has taken appropriate action in this case. The teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave per district policy.”

“No means no and stop means stop. This isn’t a situation where she’s attacking a teacher and he’s defending himself. When a woman or a 14-year-old girl says no, it means no,” Somera said.

When she says no she means no.. She wasn’t being raped. So please. The girl that hit the teacher should be suspended. And the Girl that didn’t want her hair wet.. Get the fuck over it. im going to cause a big scene cuz i got my hair done? Unbelievable bullshit.

The reason behind this, yes was immature and completely uncalled for. But the way the teacher handled it was not okay. Never should a teacher do this. The situation with the other girl fighting her teacher what the teacher did in that situation was justified. This was not.

This is stupid. She doesn’t want to get her hair wet? Then why are you in a freakin bathing suit. If your hair was that important you should have kept your high-maintenance ass at home. Kids today and their 3rd world problems.

A Teacher should never have to lay hands on a child for refusing to do something. They have the perfect punishment in place. It is called an F also know as summer school. Beisdes which her reason for not wanting to get in the pool might not really have been about her hair. She could have been having he cycle and not wanted to tell a Male teacher her dilemma. Its not nt he projects a sensitive understanding image here.

Everyone who post is not getting this. Are you all children commenting? Does anyone here have children? The teacher’s job is to teach, and protect the young students. What the teacher did was in appropriate behavior. The teacher could have either say OK you are excused, or OK but you get a Zero for this class, send the girl to the principals office. What that teacher was doing, in my eyes, was attacking the 14 year old. AND NO MEANS NO, AND STOP MEANS STOP, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I noticed a few girls splashing water on the 14 year old—not appropriate behavior WHILE the teacher is trying to throw the 14 year old in the pool. (if the girls would do that splashing when the incident with the teacher, then I can see it being different situation to be addressed)

Both parties (teacher and student) were wrong. Student didn’t want to get her hair wet?!!?! Then why even get into the pool? Don’t go to class! Don’t go to school. Teacher shouldn’t have touched her – period. But if anyone has worked with children then you know the feeling of utter frustration. He was probably perturbed because this entitled lil girl is making a fuss about her hair and you’re trying to control an entire group of these kids. He could have handled it much differently and more appropriately but her behavior shouldn’t be swept under the rug. I hate kids. This is why I am not a teacher.

That was one of my daughter’s? This teacher would have only one thing to worry about; which leg I’d tie the cinder block to before throwing his duct taped body in the lake.
