The start of the Christmas season began on a bright note Thursday at the Museum of Science and Industry.

30,000 lights were ignited on the 45-foot blue Disney themed Christmas tree, the centerpiece to MSI’s annual Christmas Around the World. It’s a showcase of the holiday season as its celebrated across the globe.

Christmas Around the World started at the museum in 1942 as a salute to the allies during World War II.

A museum to science and industry??? Where does Christmas fit in either of those? Its sad you can’t go anywhere in this country without having Christmas crammed down your throat. I don’t think Christmas when I was a kid is the same as now anyway. But you can’t go to Walgreens, Jewel or anyplace on this earth without Christmas. Besides Christmas now has nothing to do with Christ. Why not call it National I’m Being Forced To Give Gifts to People Only Because They are Being Forced to Buy Gifts for Me Day
