Two generous diners awarded the chef and staff of a Florida restaurant with cash and beer, but saved the most impressive tip for their waiter.

According to the Naples Daily News,  a waiter at the Naples restaurant Pazzo received a $1500 tip during a busy night last week.

The server, 35-year-old Carlos Perez, was rushing during a busy dinner hour on Tuesday when a couple at one table told him as former restaurant workers they understood and Perez should take his time and bring them a bottle of Tuscan wine – one of the most expensive on the menu.

When it came time to order, the customer asked if the chef could make veal marsala – an item not on the menu. He told Perez to take a $20 bill to the chef. The chef made the dish at no cost.

As a thank you, the customer added two cases of beer to his bill for the kitchen staff and servers. It was $240 worth of beer.

At the end of the dinner, the customers tipped Perez $1500 to help him repair his car.

Perez tried to refuse, but the man insisted, adding the tip to his receipt.

“The woman looked at me. She grabbed my hand and said, ‘You deserve this; don’t think twice about it,’ ” Perez to the Naples Daily News.
