Dwight White

A defensive back on the Northwestern University football team learned four months ago that he has only one kidney; and it was bruised in a pre-season practice.

So now, Dwight White is saying goodbye to football.

White played in every game during his freshman year; but as much as he wants to keep playing, White says he can’t have his mother worrying that an injury could kill him.

Northwestern will let him finish his final three years on his football scholarship; he will graduate with a communications degree, and he hopes to go into graphic design.
