Waukegan schools were closed again today and will remain closed the rest of this week as the teachers' union and the district battle over a deal.

The two sides, who are at odds over pay raises, we at the negotiating tables today but no deal has been reached.

The strike has been going on for almost three weeks and is having a negative, ripple-effect on student-athletes.

A total of five teams that compete in the Illinois High School Association had to cancel their seasons early.

If a deal isn't reached before Monday, volleyball and cross-country will join that list.
