A Skokie middle school was closed a second day Thursday due to threats on social media.
A letter was sent home to parents the school district and Skokie police are investigating a series of posts on Instagram that have been shared with with some sixth grade students at Oliver McCracken Middle School.
Village officials said in a statement that administrators told police Monday of “inappropriate and threatening communication received by students via social media.
McCracken school officials are saying very little else about the threat.
With Skokie police and federal authorities investigating the matter, many say they're glad to see school officials being cautious.
