You’ve heard the rap on toddlers — look away for a second and you don’t know what they’ll get themselves into.

In Maryville, Tennessee, 18-month-old Colin Lambert got himself into a toy vending machine.

His grandmother, Diane O’Neill, was checking a text on her phone for a moment.

She looked up and he was gone.

“I got a text message, looked down flicked it, looked down and didn’t hear the bang.  With Colin you have to hear the bang or you don’t see him for another 10 seconds…. all I could see was his feet, he had already crawled in.  I grabbed his feet and he kicked my hand and he got in, climbed up and over the glass partition and sat down in the toys and started playing,” O’Neill said.

The fire department came and rescued Colin.

He went home with a toy and a story that his family will always remember.
