Disruptions in air travel will continue into Saturday after a fire in a FAA facility broke out Friday morning.
Nearly 1600 flights were cancelled Friday. Many airlines also had to cancel flights Saturday.
The madness began around 6 a.m. when a temporary ground stop was issued by the FAA because of a fire at its air traffic control center in Aurora.
Aurora officials confirm that the fire was deliberately started by a male employee, and this was not an act of terrorism. That man has since been charged.
Once air traffic resumed, airlines were running on a greatly reduced schedule.
It all created a domino effect in airports across the country.
Passengers were frustrated and stranded at both O’Hare and Midway.
Airlines encouraging passengers to check online for flight status before heading to the airport this weekend.
Many airlines are waiving rebooking fees and allowing tickets for today and tomorrow to be used within the year.

So it’s that easy to shut down the worlds busiest airport….. I wonder if that Al Kayda fella knows about that? How about redundancy in those services?

How is this NOT considered an act of (Domestic) Terrorism, as it ABSOLUTELY meets the very definition of it, per the FBI’s own website? Unreal how so many levels of Gov’t attempt to blur the lines of reality, in an effort to quell any fears of what can potentially happen. God forbid ISIS, or any other bonafide terrorist organization figure out all it takes is a $10 bottle of lighter and some matches to bring down two entire airports in the U.S. Security continues to be so lapse in this country it’s a pathetic joke.

Amtrak looks better and better every day, doesn’t it?

Time to start looking for Ed Cables from “Pushing Tin”. I think this time he went over the edge.
